Meet the APBS Team!

Over the next several installments of Views from the Valley, we’ll be introducing some newer APBS employees. Join us as we learn more about them!

Name: Paul Burla

Role at APBS: General Manager. I manage sales, installation, administrative, and service activities with an emphasis on maximizing the customer experience and satisfaction of our builder partners.

How long have you worked at APBS? I have been at Andersen since 2019, and have been a member of the APBS team since June of 2022.

How did you get into this line of work? I originally got into the building products industry due to a referral by my older brother at a previous company earlier in my career. I fell in love with the construction industry and realized it was a great fit for me and my career. Since joining Andersen it has felt like I have truly found my work family, and I have actually recruited both of my brothers into different positions at Andersen across the US as well.

What is the coolest or weirdest thing you’ve ever seen on a jobsite? The coolest thing I have seen on a jobsite was actually before I joined Andersen. I came across a jobsite that had the coolest door I have ever seen. It was a 40’ wide multi-glide door that had curved panels and operated on a radius style track. Upon researching the product I found out that door was manufactured by Weiland, an Andersen company. In exciting news: when APBS opens our new showroom this summer we will be featuring a Weiland radius door in our selection center!

Favorite hobby: I am a sports fanatic and especially enjoy going to college and professional football, basketball and baseball games. My favorite teams are the Cardinals for football and baseball, and I am a newly converted Suns fan for basketball.

Favorite travel spot: My new favorite travel spot since I moved to AZ is Sedona. Alternatively, I love fresh water lakes and enjoy traveling to Michigan in the summer to spend time on the great lakes.

Favorite restaurant: My family’s favorite local restaurant we’ve found since moving to AZ is Cocina Madrigal on S 16th St. here in Phoenix.

Favorite Andersen product / line: Weiland big doors.

Your Andersen dream house: My dream home would include a mixture of Andersen products. That is the best thing about Andersen, our product portfolio is so vast there is truly a unique product that will work in almost any application. As far as colors, I would have to defer that decision to my wife, as she is more of the design expert than myself and I trust her judgment and taste better than my own…

Name: Victor Carrillo

Role at APBS: APBS Installation Project Manager. My role within APBS is to ensure that our projects run as smoothly as possible by making sure that these projects meet the expectations of our customers. I provide resolutions within and outside of the organization and am a point of contact by providing customer service and building relationships.

How long have you worked at APBS? I’ve been with Andersen since April 2019. I started in the Heritage production originally and then I moved into an APBS position in 2021 as a field installer.

How did you get into this line of work? This line of work was a huge change for me. It all started with a Facebook recruitment post when I was trying to see what would interest me.  I’m glad I was given this opportunity to be part of this family/team.

What kind of music do you listen to while you work? 90’s hip hop

Favorite food: Mexican Food

Favorite movie: Super Troopers

Favorite TV show: The Office

Favorite Andersen product / line: E-Series product line is one of my favorites.

Your Andersen dream house: It would be a combination of lines: Heritage for the Multi-Slides and E-Series for the windows. I really like the black finish and anodized on the aluminum.

Stay tuned to learn about other APBS employees in June!
